In what has become a tradition over many years, Cornerstone’s classes of Kindy students have participated in a Dads Only Night in the lead-up to Father’s Day.
Each year as we approach this celebration of Fatherhood, the Kindy classes collectively return at night, with their Dads or other significant males in tow. The aim is to allow many Fathers, who otherwise don’t get to step into the classroom, to get to interact with their child in a range of activities. Over the past two nights, Dads and children have been seen constructing items out of wood, painting, completing puzzles, exploring the temporary in-room castle, and even drawing on the interactive white-board together. As well as sharing a special supper that was on offer, the grown-ups also got the chance to look through their child’s portfolio.
This lovely tradition is always incredibly popular, and gives us at Cornerstone the chance to say ‘Well done’ to the Fathers in each student’s life. The value that these significant men have in the development of each child cannot be over-stated, and on this occasion, we love having the opportunity to provide a chance for further interaction and engagement.
To each Dad - Happy Father’s Day. We hope you feel incredibly valued.

For the first time, two classes of Kindy students have resulted in the traditional Dads Only Kindy Nights making a dual appearance as well.
Each year as we approach Father’s Day, the Kindy class collectively returns at night, with their Dads or other significant males in tow. The aim is to allow many Fathers, who otherwise don’t get to step into the classroom, to get to interact with their child in a range of activities. Over the past two nights, Dads and children have been seen constructing trucks out of wood, painting, completing puzzles and even drawing on the interactive white-board together. As well as a special supper being on offer, the grown-ups also got the chance to look through their child’s portfolio.

In what has become an annual event at Cornerstone, the Year 1 students invited their Dads along to a very special afternoon tea.
Each year, in the week leading up to Father’s Day, these College youngesters get to share the classroom with their Dads and shower them with food and gifts whilst they are there.
Mrs Audrey Sully and her team of very capable assistants have helped the students prepare for this event. Together they have been busy making cards, gifts and setting up tables.
After presenting their completed creations, the children were encouraged to serve their Dads some food and a drink as a way of thanking them for the love they show. 24 hot cups of tea and coffee were successfully delivered without incident!
One Dad flew in from his job only ten minutes before the afternoon tea, yet still managed to make it – to the delight of his very grateful daughter. That’s what being a Dad is all about!
The College is thrilled with the number of men who were able to take time away from their jobs and businesses to share this special afternoon with their children. A sensational event.
