Mr Will Meyer is a highly experienced and qualified member of the College’s secondary teaching team. 

Will is considered a truly gifted teacher, who offers inspiration to his students and peers alike.  He is currently responsible for Human Biological Studies, Physical Education Studies and is planning to assist SIDE students with Physics and offer a Robotics option in 2010.  He also has a love for Chemistry and anticipates the opportunity to help Year 11 &12’s in that field.

Will lived and worked in the UK for two years after leaving South Africa in 2001. He came to Cornerstone after being Head of Science at Swan Christian College for four years.  Will holds a Bachelor of Science (Ed) Chemistry III, Botany III, together with a Bachelor of Education (Media Science and Didactics of Science) which he obtained from the University of Johannesburg.  Further to that, he obtained a diploma in ICT Science Teaching from Open University UK and completed the unit; Biblical Foundations of Decision Making from NICE, Australia.  One can gather from this vast array of qualifications that he is a teacher who has completed the highest levels of training and that his students are in safe hands.

Will has taught for the past 18 years and is truly passionate about his chosen career.  One of the great highlights of his job is when a student finally grasps a concept and can communicate this to him.  He believes that there are simply no stupid questions in his class – the only stupid question is the one not asked.  He enjoys the interaction and relationships he can establish with his students and encourages active participation.

Will believes that his students should be able to discern what is theory and what is fact and he believes this concept deserves considerable attention.  He aims to have every student in his classes firmly understanding the content and theory of their lessons.  This primary objective is also balanced with the one truth that Mr Meyer believes – God is Truth.  His desire is that each student he encounters can hopefully come to acknowledge this in their own lives.

Mr Meyer firmly believes that each student is capable of achieving great results, particularly when this is partnered with a belief that God can work in each life and give inner strength.

Will is a well respected team member who inspires his own peers to use technology to great effect which is also of great benefit to the College community.
