In 2008, Cornerstone had its first graduating class of Year 12’s.  The College had worked towards this milestone for sometime and the exceptional results achieved by this first-ever class were encouraging.  

Whilst the academic results of our College are only one part of the balanced curriculum we provide, it is an obvious and necessary measure of our success.  It is therefore with great delight that Cornerstone can announce that every student who completed a TER course in 2008 is in receipt of a university offer.  To further highlight the extent of this achievement, 20% of graduating students achieved a TER score of between 90 and 100 and  another 20% achieved  results of between 80 and 90.   The opportunities for graduates of Cornerstone are immense.

Phillip Taylor is one student who is pleased with his performance, and he has been offered a place at Curtin University studying Physiotherapy.  During Year 12, Phillip studied Human Biology, Physical Education Studies, English, Applicable Maths and Chemistry.  His TER score was 94.5.  Phillip is enjoying a gap year during 2009, but will commence his Tertiary Education in 2010.  Phillip plans to specialise in Sports Physio and would like to run his own practice.  

Sophie Wittwer is another student who is taking a gap year before she heads to Perth to undertake  Midwifery at Curtin University.  Sophie is also exploring her musical talent during this year break, and is still determining what her long term goals are.  The TER score she achieved has meant that the opportunities before her are wide-ranging.

Whilst a majority of graduates have the opportunity to pursue a university education, a number have also elected to pursue further studies through TAFE and other worked based training programs.  The College is delighted that students have taken a range of options after year 12 and believes that they have the potential to make a valuable contribution to the wider community in their future endeavours.
