A brand new playground that has never been experienced by anyone else is an exciting thing for any child to explore. The College has a series of such opportunities which will be placed before students in coming weeks, and today, the first one was finally completed.
To ensure that the equipment was up to standard and that fun is guaranteed, two secondary teachers were caught red-handed testing the ‘fitness section’.
Miss Jo Needham and Mr Andrew Cleaver were discovered hanging from various pieces of equipment in the name of ’quality control’. According to them this first stage meets their approval, and should satisfy the most savvy of playground experts.
‘It’s sensational’, said Jo Needham. For a woman who spends part of her work life exploring the great outdoors, it is high praise.
Business Manager, Stuart Robinson, has advised that this section is now ready for access by students, and that by the beginning of next term, the larger playground area near the library will also be completed. The photographer did try to get Mr Robinson to also be part of the official testing, but he was happy to let the younger staff members have the moment to themselves. His business attire and tie would have made a rather striking contrast to the colours of the equipment, but on this occasion, it wasn’t to be! (We will work on his participation for the next section!)
The equipment will be a tremendous resource that students will get to enjoy for many years to come.
