Mastering Mathletics

Mathletics is an online Maths program that is utilised by students from Years 2 to 8 at the College, and some exciting results are currently showing the enormous benefits that the program brings.

Mr Howes, one of our Year 7 teachers, has been investigating the link between students who regularly add Mathletics to their daily homework regime, and how this translates to results in the classroom.  What he has discovered is enough to warrant every parent actively encouraging their children to step up in their homework and particularly with time on Mathletics.  Those students who have added a regular number of Mathletics tasks to their nightly routine, are seeing an incredible increase in grades and understanding of concepts during class time.

Mr Howes is an avid believer that natural talent plays a part in achieving great educational outcomes, but it is practice that makes perfect.  He believes that with an investment of time by a student now, that opportunities for life can unfold.  When parents partner with staff in encouraging the use of a tool such as this, that academic results that can open up a world of new possibilities become something quite achievable.

Each student at Cornerstone is given time during class to participate in Mathletics, but have the log-in details and passwords that can allow access after school hours.  If parents have any questions about the program, and how their student can benefit, please see your child’s teacher.
