Welcome to Year 4 with Mr Sean W Smith.
The Year 4 class at Cornerstone Christian College is in the competent hands of Sean Smith. Sean holds a Bachelor of Education (Primary) from Edith Cowan University in Bunbury. He has taught with the College for the past five years.
Sean is a very enthusiastic and fun-loving teacher who delights in helping his students find joy and passion in their learning as well as in life. He is a firm believer that education can be fun. Mr Smith is known for his musical talent, but also awful jokes and blowing things up! There is rarely a dull moment with Sean’s class.
Year 4 at the College is one in which students will learn to work more independently and take on additional responsibility for their work and actions. It is also a time of consolidating reading, writing and spelling skills in preparation for the all important future years. Opportunities to participate in activities with the upper school are offered as part of this process.
Students in this year group access all the major learning areas that come under the guidelines of the Curriculum Framework. They can also participate in the College’s Overdrive Program, as well as utlising the Learning Support Centre if deemed necessary.
Sean’s love of music is reflected in his teaching and he is often seen with a guitar in his hand. Sean is highly thought of within the college community and his students enjoy learning with him.
In summary, he considers the Year 4 class as ”a little energetic, slightly crazy, but mostly great fun to be around!”
